Making Book Jackets

JacketMaker has only 3 steps:

  1. Get Photos
  2. Make Jacket
  3. Purchase

Its user interface looks extremely similar to that of MyPublisher. It also works the same way with the drag and drop of the Photos and the Enhance photo tools. The flow for JacketMaker is that you first select your “Jacket Layout” and then design each individual piece of the Jacket. These pieces are each displayed as separate blue buttons.

There are 5 customizable pieces

  1. Jacket Front Cover
  2. Front Flap
  3. Spine
  4. Jacket Back Cover
  5. Back Flap

There is also a Full Jacket Preview button. This is the Preview step in JacketMaker, and you can see the entire Book Jacket laid out as it would look after being printed.

Creating a custom jacket within MyPublisher

If you opt to create a PhotoBook with a Book Jacket, you can either create a simple jacket or use the Advanced Jacket button while on the cover page of your PhotoBook in the Make Book step.

Once you click on the Advanced Jacket button, you will be taken into JacketMaker mode and you can begin designing your Jacket. JacketMaker within MyPublisher works the same way as it does in a standalone Jacket. (see instructions above)

The Advanced Jacket button is ONLY available when on the cover page. Otherwise that button becomes the “Book Size & Style” button.

Once you create an Advanced Jacket, in order to go back to the simple jacket, you must delete the jacket, the same way as you would if you deleted a page. This is located in the File menu on the top-left of the screen.

Another important item to note is that once an Advanced Jacket has been created, this Jacket is only editable if you GO BACK INTO JACKETMAKER. Therefore, if you wish to edit the cover or text, you must click on the Advanced Jacket button again and you will be taken into JacketMaker mode. Similarly, while in JacketMaker, if you wish to go back to your book you simply click the Return to Make Book button on the bottom-right of their screen.

To Preview the book jacket as part of the PhotoBook, simply click on thePreview button. The first Page of your book will look like the full jacketview. Then the following pages will appear normal.
