We recommend using photos taken with digital cameras that are greater than 2 mega-pixels. Digital cameras that are 5 mega-pixel or greater produce the best results for full bleed photos.
File Format and Resolution
All your files and photos must be saved as JPEG files. For the more experienced photo enthusiasts using photo management software please refer to our Tips and Techniques for Advanced Users help section.
Full-Bleed Printing means that the photo will print to all sides of the page, leaving no white space or border, and is available in all our Book Styles. Full-bleed pages will be cropped approximately 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch on all sides. Please allow this adjustment when creating images in photo management software.
Images saved at a lower resolution than 180 dpi will not print as sharply as it appears on your monitor (most monitors display images at 72 dpi).
Image Size
To determine the size of your jpeg image, right-click on the original image or file name (on your hard drive, not in MyPublisher) and select Properties. The size of your image will be located to the right of the word Size. MyPublisher autosizes your photos to fit the appropriate mold.
Aspect Ratio If you want to use images in your book that have a different aspect ratio (width to height) than the photo mold, you can crop the image using the Photo Editing Tools.
